APS Calculator
Enter your mark for each subject. The calculator converts each mark to an NSC level and adds them up.
The number is useful. The marks behind it are the work.
Each university sets its own admission rules. Many exclude Life Orientation. Some use their own point scale or a percentage score. Some faculties also set a minimum level for specific subjects. Use this number as a guide, then check the prospectus of every university you apply to.

Questions
What is an APS score?
APS stands for Admission Point Score. Universities use it to compare matric results. Each subject mark becomes an NSC level from 1 to 7. The levels are added together.
Does Life Orientation count towards APS?
It depends on the university. Many universities exclude Life Orientation. Others count it in a different way. Check the admission rules in each university's prospectus.
What is the highest possible APS?
Six subjects at level 7 give 42. Seven subjects at level 7 give 49. Universities that use their own scale can have a different maximum.
Can I use my Grade 11 or June marks?
Yes, to get an estimate. Each university states which results it uses for provisional offers. Your final NSC results are what count in the end.
